WITHIN MINUTES of getting on the scale. I returned that and got an analog scale. While that one is working fine, I can’t discern weight between 20lb increments … even WITH my glasses on LOL. I read the reviews for the Eat Smart scale here and decided I would give it a chance. I am glad I did. I calibrate it EVERY TIME before I weigh myself (because I move the scale) and I test the calibration with two 5 pound dumb bells. It is spot on every time. If you have been having issues with your digital scale and want to toss it out a window, get this one. I have the one with the step on technology (you don’t have to tap it on) and it works BRILLIANTLY!

I also like being able to download my books, Readers Digest and books from our local library, I am so glad I decided to purchase my new Kindle.

Wanted to read it because of the publicity, but maybe because I am a grandmother, I just didn’t like it. I just finished Dream Catcher by J. D. Salinger’s daughter, a book I greatly enjoyed and think his daughter is a remarkable individual. However, the book seemed extremely juvenile to me. Most of the content was given to sex and I can see where young boys and perhaps girls would enjoy it. Not something I would have ever cared for but it had a lot of unnecessary profanity. It speaks to me of a young man who was mentally ill, I am sure that a label could be put on it today. I am not so sure it was not actually describing Salinger himself. After reading his daughter’s book, I think Salinger definitely had mental illness, what I would call crazy. His family had to endure awful things because of him. He chose to be a recluse, and did not live in the real world, wanted to live in isolation.

I was amazed since I used super saver shipping. Then I put it together, plugged it in, and started cleaning. I must say, with the cleaning solution and the vac, it did work well. However, I started to notice streaks, and I looked further. It turns out that the brushes were not spinning. I called Hoover, and it is is getting fixed for free. Not a big deal, just very inconvenient. Ive hired professional cleaners before to clean my carpet and they could not get the stains out that this vac could without working brushes even. It works great, and leaves the carpet almost dry. If it wasnt for the DOA part, id be blown away. By the way, the repair company said this issue with the brushes is a high fail item, and it is very common. If your vac is not under warranty, it will cost more to fix it than buy another vac.

I tried the ‘classic pendelum swing’ type, and it wasn’t accurate at all. I’ve tested this one and found it to be quite accurate and helpful. It is nice because it can clip on or be put in your pocket, and it works either way.

The kindle works great and the experimental features are awesome! Bought another for my mother on Mothers day just because of all the things you can do. I highly recommend this product. The only down side is that when reading a book, there are no page numbers and so sometimes it is hard to know what “page” you are on. You only know what percentage of the book you read. But the bookmarking, the “last page read” feature, and adding margin notes are awesome. It may not be the item if you need to look at detailed pictures as you can only blow up the picture x1 magnification. The images are crisp thou (in b/w). I don’t mind the lack of color as I read for the story or the “how to”. I have downloaded some bike maintenance books and running books with charts. Works just fine for these more detailed functions.
