I spent a long time reviewing TVs before making a purchase and I’m very glad I took a chance on this relatively new Sony. It appears to have all the features of the more expensive XBR series but uses local-dimming edge lit LEDs rather than back-lighting. This makes it thinner, which was more important to me than image quality for my application. I also like that it has a uniform thickness and looks great mounted on an island in my home. It is strange how few companies care about the view from the back.

the flashlighting issue is very minor. it will only bother videophile who wants absolute best image possible. i watched dark movies on it and it still looks great. it might not have the deep dark black levels as a plasma but it does very bright clear images that out perform plasma in rooms with ambient light.

i prefer this sony led over samsung’s because it has a matte screen & variable analog audio out.

if you’re in a market for a new tv, i suggest you wait until april for the 2011 series. if you can’t wait, i would recommend this tv.

so I am not the consummate tv guru but when i put the tv in my room i was thoroughly awed by the experience. i didn’t have time to purchase a blu-ray player yet but when i put standard def 300 dvd in my dvd player i was still blown away. easy to install and the sound quality is quite good for a LED.

My one complaint would be that the sometimes the stereoscopic picture will turn on mechanically when I plug in the ipod and but commence playing. Not a big deal though – I only essay and make a point of making sure the book is turned down low when I turn it off. I as well wish it had come with a transporting case for the faceplate – but these can be obtained for ten spot dollars or less.

I purchased this scale to replace a non-digital scale I had been using. The Scale is amazingly accurate. All you do is step on and the weight (good or bad) is displayed. It will display the same number each time you step on and off, unlike my old scale that would waiver by a pound or more. Love it and glad I purchased it.

Well made & of good quality but not inexpensive, only works when on full zoom but then that is what its for at the end of the day. Takes nice shots when close to subject too
